Between the Blossoms

The most meaningful growth often happens between the blossoms.

Blossoms in front of a window.

There are weeks when the words come easily.

They arrive while I'm walking beneath the trees, lingering over coffee, or watching morning light stretch across the garden. I simply have to listen.

This wasn't one of those weeks.

I had ideas.

Pages of them.

One was nearly finished.

But every time I sat down to publish it, something inside me quietly whispered,

Not this one.

For a moment, I wondered if I had simply lost my inspiration.

Then I realized something.

Maybe this was the message.

Perhaps you've experienced moments like this too.

Not just with writing, but with life.

Nothing is obviously wrong. You're showing up. You're doing what needs to be done. Yet something feels different. Quieter. Slower. As though life itself has paused to catch its breath.

I've learned not to fear those seasons.

Nature never does.

Walk through any beautiful garden and your eyes are immediately drawn to the blossoms. They are vibrant, fragrant, and impossible to ignore. We photograph them. We admire them. We celebrate their beauty.

But what we rarely notice is everything happening between the blossoms.

The roots stretching deeper.

The soil quietly restoring itself.

The unseen work preparing the next season of growth.

If we judged a garden only by what was blooming today, we'd miss most of its story.

Perhaps we do the same with ourselves.

We often measure our lives by visible moments.

The promotion.

The answered prayer.

The finished project.

The celebration.

The breakthrough.

These are our blossoms.

Beautiful.

Worth celebrating.

But they are not where life spends most of its time. Most of life unfolds quietly... between the blossoms.

It is there that patience grows.

Character deepens.

Perspective shifts.

Healing begins.

Faith strengthens.

Relationships take root.

Dreams mature.

The world rarely applauds these moments because they cannot be seen. Yet they shape everything that eventually can. Perhaps that's why so many people feel unsettled right now.

We live in a culture that celebrates constant blooming.

Another accomplishment.

Another announcement.

Another milestone.

Another reason to believe everyone else is flourishing while we're somehow falling behind.

Nature tells a different story.

No flower blooms every day.

No tree bears fruit in every season.

No garden apologizes for winter.

Why, then, do we expect ourselves to?

I'm beginning to believe the quiet seasons aren't interruptions to a meaningful life.

They are a meaningful life.

Because it is often in the stillness that we rediscover what truly matters.

Not our pace.

Not our productivity.

Not our performance.

Our roots.

Maybe the life you're hoping for isn't delayed. Maybe it's developing.

Maybe what feels like stillness is actually preparation.

Maybe what feels like waiting is quietly becoming wisdom.

And maybe the most beautiful parts of your story are taking shape in places no one else can see.

Including you.

So if this week feels quieter than usual...

If you don't have all the answers...

If life seems to be asking you to wait instead of rush...

Perhaps nothing is wrong.

Perhaps you're simply between the blossoms.

And beneath the surface, something beautiful is becoming possible precisely because no one can see it yet.

🌿 Reflection: Between the Blossoms

Where in your life are you measuring the absence of blossoms instead of honoring the quiet work happening beneath the surface?

Perhaps today is an invitation to trust what you cannot yet see.

Because gardens have always known a quiet truth that we sometimes forget:

Trust the season between the blossoms. That's where tomorrow quietly begins. 🦋
